Technical details off

A driver holds their card to the charger to start charging.

The card is real, but the contract behind it lapsed last month.

Why this matters

Expired and blocked tokens are everyday reality: cards are cancelled, accounts run out of credit, contracts end. The network has to refuse them cleanly, at the charger, in the moment.

The CPO does not recognise this token from its whitelist, so it asks the token's owner in real time: it POSTs to the eMSP's authorize endpoint, naming the location and EVSE the driver wants to use.

The CPO tells the charger the token may not charge.
